Throughout the Artists Solve Problems unit, we were given various problems and needed to find our own way of solving each problem. First, we started with the newspaper towers. We were each put into groups and given a giant stack of newspaper and rolls of tape. The object of the activity was to make a newspaper tower that was as tall as we could make it, but it still had to be free-standing on it's own. Each group took their own approach. My group attempted to make newspaper "cubes" by rolling the paper and then stacking the cubes, however we noticed that this was taking too much time, so we solved this problem by simply just rolling the newspaper and taping it together with a strong base.
